Our Septic Services

Septic System Inspections

Inspections typically involve a comprehensive examination of the entire system. In gravity systems this includes the septic tank, the distribution box, and lines in the field using the camera. In pressurized systems, the septic tank and pipes are checked, along with the panel and its readings and the dispersal field.

During an inspection, our inspectors will check the levels of sludge and scum in the tank, assess the condition of the baffles, and ensure the structural integrity of the system components. Inspectors also look for signs of leaks or blockages and evaluate whether the system is appropriately sized for the household’s needs.

Inspections can help identify any issues a potential homeowner may have with the system and give an estimate of how much it will cost to repair any defects found during the inspection.

Chris Bayley has the Pl (Planner) and MP (Maintenance Provider) designation on his stamp allowing him to Inspect systems based on the letter from the Applied Science Trades and Technologists of British Columbia (ASTTBC) dated February 12, 2022. Septic system inspections are often one of the conditions of the sale of a house. Often septic inspections are of older gravity systems. In these cases, camera inspection of the lines from the distribution box is a very effective way of determining the condition of each of the lines and how well the field is functioning.

We have a Hathorn Camera with 200’ of 3/8” Kevlar braided hose equipped with WiFi so the camera footage can be watched on a suitably paired phone with the Hathorn App.
