Our Septic Services
Septic System Planning and Design
All of our septic system designs follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Health’s Standard Practice Manual (SPM).
Onsite system design is a crucial aspect of wastewater management in areas not served by centralized sewer systems. A well-designed septic system typically consists of a septic tank, pump tank and a dispersal field.
The planning process must consider several factors, including soil composition, hydraulic loading rates, the topography of the land, area available on the lot, and the size of the household. Sometimes on smaller lots, a treatment plant is required to reduce the field size.
Septic System Installation
We are fully-certified to install septic systems.
Septic system installation is a multi-step process that requires careful planning and adherence to local regulations to ensure environmental protection and system efficiency. As with planning, septic installation follow the standards as set out in the Ministry of Health’s Standard Practice Manual (SPM).
The installation begins after a system has been designed and planned by an Authorized Person, either a Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioner (ROWP) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng). Once the system has been filed and the filing number has been assigned to the Record Of Sewerage System (ROSS), the installation can start.
Septic System Repair & Maintenance
We are fully-certified to maintain Type 1, 2 and 3 systems under Ministry of Health as well has the certification through the Environmental Operator Certification Program (EOCP) to maintain systems under the Ministry of Environment.
Septic system maintenance is crucial for ensuring the system’s long-term functionality and preventing costly repairs or environmental hazards.
Maintenance must be carried out by an Authorized person or ROWP (Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioner) with the Maintenance Provider (MP) designation on their stamp.
Septic System Inspections
We have the Pl (Planner) and MP (Maintenance Provider) designation on our stamp allowing us to Inspect systems based on the letter from the Applied Science Trades and Technologists of British Columbia (ASTTBC) dated February 12, 2022.
Inspections typically involve a comprehensive examination of the entire system. In gravity systems this includes the septic tank, the distribution box, and lines in the field using the camera.
We have a Hathorn Camera with 200’ of 3/8” Kevlar braided hose equipped with Wifi so the camera footage can be watched on a suitably paired phone with the Hathorn App.
